Central Atlanta Junior Table Tennis League provides all participants with the
opportunity to participate in table tennis. Current participants are from all
walks of life. Our current participant currently participates
in numerous events. We at the C.A.J.T.T.L. recruit and train our participants
in the fundamentals of table tennis. We train each youth one on one. With this close personal training we have the
opportunity to mentor on some of the important facts of life. We are a
non-profit organization. We can teach the facts of life and use the discipline
of table tennis as a parable for life.
As we begin to train the youths in the sport, we have them participate
in numerous events. These events are local, statewide, regional and national.
The events are; the City of Atlanta Table Tennis League, the Georgia Games 8
District Sports Festival, The Georgia Games Championship, the Amateur Athletic
Union (AAU) District Qualifier, the AAU Junior Nationals and the USATT Junior
Olympics, As our trainees mature, we enter them into adult tournament events.
By doing so, we give them an opportunity to associate with men of the sport.
They learn sportsmanship, honor and respect. They learn to respect themselves
and others. Most of the time there is no referee, so they have to learn
self-discipline and the art of fair play. This is a tool they should carry
through life. By entering into tournaments it calls for travel to other places
meeting other people and cultures. Because table tennis crosses all ethnic
backgrounds these experiences provided by the C.A.J.T.T.L. are essential to the
social growth of our youth. In no other sport do our youth have an opportunity
to meet and greet other youths from Asia to China to Russia all the way from
the Middle East.
The Central Atlanta Junior Table Tennis League was formed in 2000 as a
company that specializes in promoting amateur athletics to amateur athletes.
The company is a non–profit organization located in the inner city to reach
disadvantaged youths. The idea started with one youth who is now in college on
a table tennis scholarship and has grown to nearly fifty participants. Its
founders are former coaches, parents, mentors and professional counselors. The
founders use table tennis as a base because of its necessary disciplines and
its world- wide popularity. One of our top participants received a grant to
train at the Japan Table Tennis Training Center in Tokyo in the summer of 2003.
The C.A.J.T.T.L. is located in the southwest part of Atlanta
in the heart of the inner city. From this vantage, we can provide athletic
services, event planning and public relation all from one location. Our
principal office is located in the basement of 2404 Sand fall Court, Atlanta,
Georgia 30331. We rent gym space from the Ben Hill Recreation Center at 2405
Fair burn Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30331
The City of Atlanta Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural
Affairs backs the Central Atlanta Junior Table Tennis League, C.A.J.T.T.L. The League is sanctioned by the USATT (United States
Table Tennis Association founded in 1933). Combining the three well-established
organizations, our mission is to promote amateur athletics to amateur athletes.
Our Goal of the junior program is to promote the sport of table tennis
and provide all the participants jobs, recreation and competition in the
world’s number one racquet sport. We aim to promote the best experience by
promoting and administering the sport and jobs in a variety of ways.
